Rotting Christ - Aealo

So, the new Rotting Christ is here (sorta :D). I've heard really mixed reviews on this one, but I happen to enjoy it. It's definitely Rotting Christ moved in a different direction. Anyway, here it is for you to judge for yourself. As always, if you like it, buy it!

  1. "Aealo"
  2. "Eon Aenaos"
  3. "Demonon Vrosis"
  4. "Noctis Era"
  5. "Dub-Saĝ-Ta-Ke"
  6. "Fire, Death and Fear"
  7. "Nekron Iahes..."
  8. "...Pir Threontai"
  9. "Thou Art Lord"
  10. "Santa Muerte"
  11. "Orders From The Dead (Diamanda Galas cover)"
Enjoy

The Kovenant - In Times Before The Light

Genre: Melodic Black Metal
Origin: Bergen, Norway

The first release from the band known first as 'The Covenant' and then 'The Kovenant'. The name change also saw stylistic change to industrial metal. These first two releases were pretty solid melodic black, fairly similar to Rotting Christ.

Tracklisting:
  1. "Towards the Crown of Nights"
  2. "Dragonstorms"
  3. "The Dark Conquest"
  4. "From the Storm of Shadows"
  5. "Night of the Blackwinds"

Forest of Fog is a one man black metal project from Switzerland, and believe me when I tell you that Ivo can really tear shit up on the guitar. This is mid-paced black metal with a lot of very melodic and memorable parts. Abgründe is Forest of Fog's latest cd and I've been waiting patiently for a new one but I really don't know what's going on with that. In the meantime, I'll also try to post up his other full lengths.

Midwinter is another band that Bloodfire (Zuriaake, Yn Gizarm) is involved with and this album ranks among his best. This is very melodic mid-paced atmospheric black metal that gives you a sense of the frostbitten doldrums. I'm eagerly awaiting their follow up album.

To say this album is long awaited is completely an understatement. I'd pretty much given up on this band because it's been 11 years since their incredible self titled debut. But, out of nowhere, here's the second full length from this South Korean band. I'm just about to listen for the first time myself, so I'm posting this on faith.
