I could not find any information on this band but heres my story. I first heard Psilocybinide on Vol. 1 of the Stoner Rock comps of unsigned bands that you can download by going here . The song was "Capsized" and for some reason it just stuck with me and left me wanting to hear more from them. I searched and searched to try to contact the band for more tunes but was unsuccessful so I gave up on my search. Fast forward a year and my search was back on. I found a link to Pablo, the drummers myspace page and contacted him to ask if Psilocybinide ever recorded a demo. He said yes, he had a copy that he would burn and send to me, needless to say it made my day! He asked where I had heard them so I told him and he said he forgot that they contributed to the compilation and was stoked that I was interested in the demo. Pablo now drums in a progressive instrumental jam band in B.C, Canada called Trophy Wife look them up here . Psilocybinide weren't reinventing the wheel but this 5 track demo makes for a rock'n listen. They played a whiskey fueled, bluesy brand of stoner rock that maybe you'll enjoy, I know I do! Light one up and give it a listen.

It’s a little hard to dig up information regarding Egypt.  All I know is that this trio hailed from Fargo, ND and that they were the only band playing that style (stoner/doom) in the area. Lyderhorn Records have taken on the task of having James Plotkin (Khanate, OLD) remaster the only four songs (from a demo) Egypt ever recorded and release them in vinyl. The result is great. The guitar is super chunky and has great punch. It has all come together in a very organic manner that matches up to the band’s obvious ideas. On the third track for instance, Egypt sounds a bit like Bad Company had the guitar slot been filled by Tony Iommi. It’s a long jam of over seven minutes that is about sweaty licks more than heavy bashing.

This is easily one of the most played albums in my collection.  Fans of Kyuss, Suplecs, etc.

Volume III is the third album of Kamchatka, an eleven track effort, containing the cover version "Whipping Post", originally recorded by The Allman Brothers Band. The album was produced by Kamchatka, recorded and mixed by Tobias Strandvik and Kamchatka at Shrimpmonkey Studios, and mastered by Johan Eckerblad at Mintelligence Studios.


This album is INCREDIBLE.  If you enjoyed the other two, grab this one as well.  This one features guest appearances by Jean-Paul Gaster (drums on "Whipping Post"), and  Per Wiberg (keyboards on "Look Over You Shoulder", "See", "Sorg" and "Guess I'll Be Leaving").

Here's a groovy stoner album that I just now found out even existed. I tell you what, if you are a Saint Vitus fan you are gonna love this stuff. Wino is in top form just rocking out with this up-beat heavy metal doom band. I'm actually listening to this for the first time right now and I'm loving it. Just had to share. I believe Jean Paul was in Clutch. This album sounds so oldschool, it's gonna be cracking my top ten list this year, I'm thinking.
