Here we have two "Atmospheric" Black Metal bands from Europe. But no keyboards or any of that shit. Pure atmosphere from killer riffs and production. These two seemed to jump out of nowhere in the past few years and are a definite force to be reckoned with in the world of generic black metal crap going around. I would even recommend this to anyone that isn't a Black Metal fan. Good shit, man!

Here is a collection of singles and songs that were featured on various splits from France's The Austrasian Goat.  Apparently, Austrasia was the name of a forgotten land, between France and Germany. Centuries after centuries, the people of Austrasia refused the christian influence and kept a relative independence until the 18th century. Through the ages, this land kept marks of ancient pagan rites, scares of deceases and major conflicts, and shroud of suffering, hidden behind apparent serenity. This green and gray desert attests the fall of a civilization. 


This is what I would describe as what would happen if Gnaw Their Tongues, Khanate, Nortt, and (insert relentlessly heavy doom band here) all had sex.  The Austrasian Goat would be their love child.  That's probably not the best description of the music, but I'm sure you get the idea.

Les Discrets is a solo project from Fursy Teyssier from Amesoeurs so you can kind of know what to expect. This is a rock album and there's virtually no black metal involved. So basically it's a beautifully crafted shoegaze album with swirling dreamy guitars, hypnotic rhythms and tender and smooth clean male vocals. If you like music with a wistful, nostalgic feeling throughout, this is for you.

This is Monarchs' third full length album.  With only two tracks, this monster still clocks in at right under 40 minutes. There are a lot of mixed reviews about this album, I personally think it's one of their better releases so I figured I'd share.  Thanks go to my friend Skaven for the recommendation.

Amesoeurs - Amesoeurs

French black metal/shoegaze. Apparently, these guys were around before Alcest's new sound, and comparing them to new Alcest is pretty unfair. They do have some parallels, but both bands are far from sounding like a clone of the other.

Highly reccomended album overall, especially if you do like the whole shoegaze sound, but even if you don't.

Well it's a shame this band split up because I think they were onto something pretty cool. I didn't like this too much at first but it kept growing on me and now i just think it's wonderful. I think the term i would use to describe them is post black pop. Anyways, it's good, so enjoy!

I've never been a huge fan of Peste Noire but this album caught my attention and I've enjoyed it a lot. It's mostly nationalistic anthems with lots of rocking parts. It's kind of hard to describe but it's raw and ugly for the most part with nice melody and killer vocals. It's a dirty dirty album. Enjoy!

I started thinking about this album and i noticed that it got pretty bad reviews and is considered one of Blut Aus Nord's worst offerings. I think people just don't get it and simply follow what other people say. This puppy is a friggen masterpiece and people need to give it another chance, so here you are... one ugly, disgusting, nauseating slab of societal decay...
