Aphek and Shechter has recorded and toured together for 3 years with the band ‘ED’ which broke up closely to when "Carusella" was born. Both are considered well known figures in the Israeli alternative music scene. Aphek initiated and produced the first Israeli Independent Alternative "outdoors" festival in the north of Israel which is called ‘Hutsmize’. Shechter in his past has recorded and toured with various Israeli bands such as: ‘Kruzenshtern & Parohod’; ‘Monotonix’; ‘O.B.E.Y’; ‘Flying Baby’, ‘Superdrive’ and many more.  ‘Carusella’ brings out the essence of “Boy-Girl”, “super loud”, “two people are enough”. Their live performance presents their tensed chemistry and explosive charged energies. Carusella's debut EP album shows their genuine and innovative approach to rock'n'roll, stretching the boundaries by writing unique hardcore songs yet arranging them in a poppy way. Now After two years of touring Europe and spreading their self produced/distributed debut EP, the two are touring the US.

Carusella  played New Orleans last Monday night.  They had to follow two of the heaviest sets I've witnessed in a LONG time.... Thou, followed by Haarp.  Needless to say, they did a great job.  They kept the energy flowing and I kept the beers flowing.  After Carusella, Torche closed the show.  It was definitely a strange lineup but somehow, it worked very well.

Zebra - 3.V (1986)

 The album 3.V by Zebra was released in 1986 on Atlantic Records. All tracks were written by Randy Jackson. Doug Stone from allmusic gave the album 4.5 stars, saying "3.V has that certain something extra: more than an album, 3.V opens the mind of an unheralded genius."

No Tellin' Lies is Zebra's second album, and is also their most overlooked work.  Songs like "But No More" and "I Don't Care" are enough reason to love this album.  If you liked their first album, be sure to check this out. Also make sure you visit The Door for official news on the band.

Zebra - Self Titled (1983)

Zebra is a hard rock band that came together in 1975 in New Orleans, Louisiana. It features Randy Jackson (guitar and vocals), Felix Hanemann (bass, keyboards and vocals) and Guy Gelso (drums and vocals). Their mainstream debut on Atlantic Records was in 1983, highlighted by the singles "Tell Me What You Want" and "Who's Behind The Door". Like Twisted Sister, Zebra cut their teeth on the East Coast club circuit, frequently playing at clubs on Long Island, NY.  Zebra started their career by playing covers of Led Zeppelin, Moody Blues and Rush songs: it was their early fans' reaction to their Led Zeppelin renditions that helped convince the band to bring their act to New York.  They had introduced their original material into their cover sets years before they were signed to Atlantic Records, including "The La La Song", "Free" and "Bears" (originally entitled "The Bears are Hibernating").  Zebra had been noticed as an original act to contend with by local colleges and even had some of their early original performances recorded by Long Island FM radio station WBAB, culminating in the inclusion of one of their songs on a release of "WBAB's Homegrown Album", which commemorated some of the station's best local acts and performances culled from their on-air "Homegrown Hour" program.  The band continued to tour throughout the 1980s and 1990s, and in 2003 released their first album of all-new material since 1986. Zebra is the debut album by American hard rock band Zebra, released in 1983, eight years after they were founded. The album features all original material, with the exception of "Slow Down," a Larry Williams tune best remembered in a 1964 cover version by the Beatles. It is generally considered the band's strongest work, featuring minor hits "Who's Behind The Door?" and "Tell Me What You Want."
Dream Theater covered "Take Your Fingers From My Hair" for the special edition of their 10th studio album, Black Clouds & Silver Linings.

Spickle

Spickle is an all original, 4-piece instrumental band from Uptown New Orleans, Louisiana. What began as a time-killer in between another band's practices, Spickle became exactly what Gregg, Paul Kenny and Bret needed; an outlet to release pressure, a palette to be creative, a great way to kill time and another reason to keep waking up.

You can probably tell I like it.
If you haven't heard Spickle before, now is a good time. They are tighter than ever and this pre-release CD is good evidence that there will always be room in StonerRock for bands of the instrumental variety:) These guys are right up there with Karma to Burn and Clearlight as far as musicianship and tightness goes.
This CD travels a lot from fast furious jazzy changes to straight ahead killer road rock with plenty of impressive guitar lead work. The whole rhythm section works like a well oiled machine and are sure to be superior in the live show category.
If you like a band that just jams and does plenty of unique math twists without confusing the listener, then this is the CD for you. It fits right in there with Karma To Burn and Clearlight, check it out for the sake of rock, even if instrumental isn't your thing, you might find this interesting enough to change your mind.

Spickle " The Right to Remain Silent" review on Cosmiclava.com

The city of New Orleans is still a good ground for exciting and unique bands. This time it's SPICKLE.
After the self-titled EP, they've banned twelve tracks on the new album, released in 2002. SPICKLE's instrumental music sends the listener to a lot of varied moods and feelings. The musicians are playing amazingly tight in everything they do, from the softer jazzy parts to the whirlwind-like explosive moments. Different dynamics are playing a big role in the music. But let me pick out a few single songs, to show the immense variety of this fascinating album. Spastic Orion" or "2-3= -fun" are more direct rock tunes with hardcore undertones and not only this time, Karma To Burn are coming to mind. But as in "Valve Cover", that starts like 6t's psych tune with a somehow beautiful strange atmosphere and turns into a heavy riff-driven explosion, KTB-like, but from the whole song structure it's very different to them.

Even the quieter moments of SPICKLE, there's still a lot of energy under the peaceful surface. A song as "Bread Puddin" is a cleaver mixture between 7t's Jazzrock and complex heaviness, while "Backbreak" or "It's a nice Day to Die" is more Blues-influenced. What makes SPICKLE so amazing for me, is their impressive and creative way of combining very different musical elements to one refreshing and energetic unit. There's Jazz, Heavy Rock, Hardcore and more, so be open-minded for the SPICKLE experience. (KK)

This is a single released back in '85 by the King of Metal. This is the first thing released by King Diamond (excluding the demo). "No Presents For Christmas" is a cheesy song about Santa getting stuck at the North Pole. Well, it managed to launch the monolithic career of the mastermind behind "Abigail", "Them", and "Give Me Your Soul...Please?", so why not give it a shot?

Note: The title of the second track is labeled either "The Lake" or "Charon" from different sources. I called it "The Lake" because there were more sources that called it that.

Bagged Milk And The Electro Tomatoes was a heavy metal/grind project that I started that never went anywhere. I played guitar, and an online friend from Britain programmed drums in Garageband and did vocals and bass. The songs were mostly improv'd by me, sent to Bagged Milk, and then promptly finished. He continued with his project, "Nathwhy!?", and I encourage you to check that out on Google. If we ever come back into comission, we might do a split with Nathwhy!?, so stay tuned :D
